 Who We Are
Stars and Stripes Basketball Officials Association
(SSOA) is a basketball
officials association whose mission is to provide training to
officials who have the desire to improve their skills, both on and
off the court. SSOA gives its members opportunities to train
year-round, through the use of technology, and constant feedback
in a constructive setting. The creation of an officials camp has
added another strength to its growing list of accomplishments. We
provide a product to our client that is second to none. SSOA's
members have experience in all different levels of basketball,
including Collegiate and High School, and both men and
women.
SSOA
has approximately 200 members. Most of these members work in other
Associations through the VA, MD, DC area in both college and high
school. Most members belong to IAABO with their respective high
school associations. SSOA provides them the training they need to
become stronger officials when working in their other games. SSOA
services both Leagues and Tournaments. It works primarily in
Northern VA, but has provided services in DC and some parts of MD.
SSOA provides officials primarily for AAU Tournaments, but also
works recreation leagues, both youth and adults.
